Webeloree Training Opportunities
Webelos leaders and parents, this is just for you. Here is an opportunity for you to get a jump start on the Boy Scout training program. While your Webelos are busy attending classes, you have the chance to take the Boy Scout Fast Start Training between the hours of 10:00am and 12:00pm and after lunch, you have the opportunity to attend the Youth Protection training program.
Upon completion of the Youth Protection training, registered leaders will receive a course completion card from the District Commissioner who will be on hand to teach that course.
When you become a Boy Scout leader, you will want to continue your scouting education and training by attending other courses such as Scoutmaster Fundamentals and Wood Badge training.
During the Adult instruction, several representatives from various Troops will be stopping in to speak with you to answer any questions you may have about their Troops or about Boy Scouts in general.

Crossover Ceremonies

Over the past several years our Order of the Arrow Chapter has been performing OA crossover ceremonies for cub packs in our district. The demand for these ceremonies have been increasing each year. Last year we had ceremonies scheduled 11 out of 12 weeks between Feb. & Apr. Combined with annual troop OA elections each week during the same period as well and regular troop and family obligations, these young men (and their advisors) were spread pretty thin.
The chapter leadership (youth) seeing a need for something to be done, but not wanting to stop doing crossover ceremonies, chose to do 1 district OA Webelos Crossover ceremony each month in February, March and April. They have committed to make themselves available all day on the selected dates to perform crossovers for packs and troops. Their underlying concern was they did not want to turn this into a "cattle call" and loose the personal touch for the cubs and their families.
The chapter goal is to try to do these crossovers indiffrent locations in the district, from the south central and north is possible. The chapter has not decided on locations at this time and help is needed from the district for suggestions and resources.
